Sports have been a big part of who I have become in life. I dreamed of being a professional athlete, but those dreams looked like wishful thinking when I experienced my first taste of failure getting cut from the middle school baseball team. Simple as it sounds, this tiny experience set me on a long journey of understanding myself. I developed a disciplined work ethic, resilience to failure, and a strong passion for what I want. The best part of all of it, I still failed over and over. I am not a NCAA collegiate athlete, I didn't get my name on any athletic award lists in high school, and as a matter of fact I never even started a high school baseball game. What I did walk away with was all the skills my failures developed and the key traits that make me successful. I am confident that this mindset will make me a highly valuable member of an organization.Â
